This is a sponsored review from BlogHer and Seattle’s Best.
I'm a coffee drinker. On the weekdays, I tote a travel mug filled with coffee to work. On the weekends we brew a big pot and drink from our favorite mugs while we eat waffles, read the paper, and figure out some weekend plans.
I'm a morning coffee drinker, generally. Although offer me a cup with my dessert at night and I won't pass. A cup of iced coffee with lunch on a summer day? Absolutely.
I'm a milk-in-my-coffee drinker. I like my coffee with a splash of soy milk or almond milk or half and half. No sugar, although I love to grind some fresh nutmeg on top.
I'm a coffee drinker who alternates between decaffeinated and caffeinated. I keep both in my cupboard and switch it up frequently. Sometimes I brew up a half-caffeinated blend.
I know precisely the type of coffee drinker I am, but I sometimes find buying coffee confusing. I like my coffee full-flavored, but without being too intense. Does that mean I want a breakfast blend? A French Roast? An Italian Roast? The one in the most stylish packaging (which is often how I choose)? It seems that no matter how many times I buy coffee, I find myself on the aisle at the Supermarket trying to figure out if I want an American Roast or a European Roast?
Enter Seattle's Best, with a system that simplifies the coffee selection process. With the new Level System, consumers are able to easily find and choose from a selection of Seattle’s Best Coffee blends that span the entire range of coffee enjoyment, from a mild, light, crisp Level 1 to a bold, dark and intense Level 5.
(Plus the packaging is great.)
Level 1: Mild, Light, Crisp
Level 2: Bright, Lively, Easy Drinking
Level 3: Balanced, Smooth, Full-Flavored
Level 4: Rich, Elegant, Complex
Level 5: Bold, Dark, Intense
I think I'd like a morning cup of Level 3, with a dash of milk and a sprinkling of fresh nutmeg.
In addition to Levels 1 through 5, you can choose from a decaffeinated blend ("D"), an Organic Fair Trade Certified blend and flavored coffees Cinnamon (“C”) and Hazelnut (“H”). I'm so excited to try the cinnamon.
How do you like your coffee? Mild and light? Full-bodied and nutty? Bold and intense? With cream? With sugar? With a dash of cinnamon? Visit the site and then tell me how you like your coffee for a chance to win $100 to Amazon, courtesy of BlogHer.

I tend to enjoy the full-bodied coffees, but I tend to add lots of cream and sugar. A little vanilla syrup doesn't hurt either!

I'm definitely a number 1, with way too much cream and sugar.

I looooove coffee, but I am a weirdo and can't drink it after 5 PM or I won't sleep (and I'm only 24...totally makes no sense). I love my coffee sweet, milky and lukewarm (I don't really like anything hot). It's got to have lots of milk and at least 2 packets of Splenda. Flavoring (caramel or vanilla) is a definite plus.
Posted by: Jaimie | April 02, 2011 at 02:26 PM
i like my medium roast coffee with steamed milk and vanilla syrup.

I think I'd go level 4. I drink my coffee with hazelnut creamer, but milk and 3 sugars will do in a pinch.

I think i would be a level one or level two. I like more of a light roast, nothing bitter or strong and intense. And I like flavored coffee especially a good Hazelnut at breakfast time! And I drink my coffee black!

I think I'd like level 3 w/ a splash of creamer and some raw sugar.

I'm a level 3 (caffinated) morning person with some half and half and sugar.
On busy work days, I require an afternoon cup to power through the paperwork on my desk.

Right now I'm a 0 b/c I gave up caffeine for Lent. This has not stopped me from sniffing the coffee of those around me, however. As of Easter, I'll be returning to my usual coffee consumption. I think I'm probably a 3-4 with milk and sugar. And occassionally cinnamon. :)
Posted by: Stephanie | April 04, 2011 at 10:24 AM
Mild with one splenda and a splash of skim milk.
Posted by: Robin M. | April 04, 2011 at 10:26 AM
I'm a solid 2, with lots of milk (whole!!)...I've been doing lattes since before that place with "a store on every corner" was founded!

I don't drink the coffee, but I do make it for my boyfriend :-) He is definitely a 4 or a 5, black. No extra stuff in his coffee. I usually buy him fair-trade, organic, shade grown coffee to be nice to the birds.
Posted by: Leah | April 04, 2011 at 11:32 AM
I'd have to say I'm a level 4. My favorite is coffee with hazelnut or hazelnut creamer, no sugar needed.
Posted by: Tracy | April 04, 2011 at 11:33 AM
I like my coffee Organic Fair Trade Certified and decaf! With real cream - none of this skim milk bs. ;) Once in awhile I'll go with soy, which for some reason makes me feel giddy!
Posted by: Janet | April 04, 2011 at 11:47 AM
I am probably a number 3 and my favorite way to prepare it would be to use a packet of hot cocoa mix and about 2 tablespoons of Non-Dairy French Vanilla creamer. A much cheaper and tasty way to have your own Vanilla Mochaccino at home!
Posted by: Dawn P. | April 04, 2011 at 11:58 AM
Seattle's Best all the way - level 3 regular and decaf, usually black but sometimes with sugar in the raw and milk or cream.
Posted by: Claudia | April 04, 2011 at 06:43 PM
I'm a level 2...bright, lively and I usually spike it with some Hershey's to make a mocha.

It's funny, I hardly ever drink drip coffee anymore as I'm the only coffee drinker in my household, so brewing a pot tends to be pretty wasteful unless I drink the whole pot (and that's just no good for anybody around me!). I'm probably a solid 2 now, with cream and a touch of raw sugar, whereas I totally used to be a level 4 before.
Ah, Seattle's Best. Years ago when I worked in Seattle there was a Seattle's Best a couple of blocks away from my work & I got super spoiled having their lattes within such easy walking distance!

I stick to "milder" caffeine (like soda) most of the time, but when I've shorted myself on sleep I desperately need a breakfast blend with Splenda. Gets me through the whole morning!

I'm a heavy, half-caf coffee drinker. I will normally start the day with a 4 cup perculator using level 2 coffee and add milk. Then mid morning...I switch to half caf. I generally go through 2 pots per day.

For a special treat once in a while, I like to ice some coffee and toss it in a blender with vanilla ice cream and a little milk for a coffee smoothie. :D
