This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Walgreens.
Here on the California Coast, our winters are mild and spring arrives early. The hills are gorgeously green right now, the trees have been blossoming for well over a month. There's really no excuse for not putting on a pair of running shoes and exploring the city by foot. A couple of months ago, I started a 5k training program. I've been off the program for two weeks, due to a lingering cold and a little bit of rain, but I need to get back on the program pronto, especially if I want to run 11 miles on 11/11/11 (a goal I've set--we'll see how that turns out! No promises!).
When the great people at Walgreens sent me a gift card to buy some seasonally appropriate Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products, I decided to pick up a few things to help with my spring training.
First on my list: a package of shoe inserts. These babies keep feet fresher and dryer, help fight odor, and control moisture. On sale for just $3.99, I picked up two packages--enough for my running shoes and some for my husband's shoes as well.
I also picked up some Walgreens brand sunscreen lotion and after sun body lotion. I've long hated treadmill running and almost always prefer to hit the streets for my jogs. Of course, being outdoors, even when the weather is cool, means slathering on the SPF. The sun's rays mean serious business.
Some thick lip balm to protect against weather conditions and some Ibuprofen for the pain following the longer runs are two more must-haves. I bought a couple of each product, so that I can keep them readily available in my desk drawer and purse.
My Walgreens experience was superb. They had all of the items on my list in stock and the associates were helpful and friendly. No more excuses--I'm now fully prepared to jog my way to fitness with the help of Walgreens.
Here's the icing on the cake: every purchase of Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products supports bringing preventive wellness services to local communities through the Walgreens Way to Well Fund™. The fund will provide free preventive health tests as well as other health and wellness services and education to local communities. Some of those services will include preventive health tests through the National Urban League Health & Wellness Tour and vouchers redeemable in select stores.
I want you to be well, too, so try Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness products. Visit the site for more information!
I'm also giving away a $100 Walgreens gift card, courtesy of BlogHer, to help keep you healthy. In the comments, please tell me which Walgreens Health and Wellness product you need to pick up. Cough medicine? Mouthwash? Lip care? You name it and $100 could be yours!

With spring on it's way I need to stock up on Walgreen's Wal-dryl allergy medicine so that when the pollen hits, I'll be ready!

I need to stock up on my supply of sunscreen! I burn so easily so I'll probably grab some of their aloe too (though I prefer the super-cold green gel stuff despite its stickiness).

After having a suspicious mole removed last year, I'm about to go all crazy on the soon appearing displays of sunscreen. Walgreens, send it my way!

I am obsessed with having soft lips, and petroleum jelly is like magic! Gotta have it in the squeeze tube, though - less mess.

I would like Go Fresh Cucumber & Green Tea Body Wash. I was laid off over a year and a half ago, so eight dollar body wash would be a treat. Not to mention I would by the biggest bottle of Boston Contact Solution. I go through contact solution fast.

I was actually just at Walgreens yesterday to pick up some over the counter cold medicines. My daughter and husband are down with the cold and it was convenient to have a Walgreens just down the street from us. I will probably pick up more soon as I know my other daughter and I are next in line to get the bug.

I have dry chapped lips year round it seems, so I'm anxious to try Walgreen's lip balm. I spend too much money on the national brands so I plan on starting a side by side comparison of Walgreen's brand lip balm vs. a national brand. If the Walgreen's lip balm is like the other Walgreen's items I use, I will be able to switch with no problem and put money back in my wallet.
