It's happening. A gray hair here, a wrinkle there. My youth is starting to elude me. There's this mirror in kitchen at my office, right next to the microwave, and three times a day, while I am heating water for my peppermint tea, I spend two minutes studying the wrinkles and attempting to pluck the gray hairs along the part in my hair.
I do some things to minimize the wrinkles. I am devoted to sunscreen, wearing it daily, rain or shine, and I try to drink a lot of water, but the truth is I should have been thinking about the effects of aging before now. As if Olay had heard my sighs, a bottle of Olay Total Effects Cooling Hydration arrived in the mail. I'm not a connoisseur of facial moisturizers, having used only Olay Complete All Day Moisture Lotion for the past five-plus years, but I am truly enjoying the new product.
It smells good. This stuff has a lovely, lovely fragrance, which makes me enjoy putting it on in the morning. My husband, who uses my products rather than purchasing his own, does not like the girly smell and complains about putting it on his face to which I say: well, then don't use it, ALL THE MORE FOR ME.
It works. Okay, so I've only been using the product for a couple of weeks and, truth be told, I still have a few wrinkles around my eyes. This stuff did not turn me back into my fresh and dewy 20-year-old self (probably all for the better). However, I had a dry, wrinkly patch on my cheek, about the size of a penny, which I noticed in the rearview mirror of a truck while I was walking down the street a few weeks ago (seriously, that’s how it happened). I mildly freaked out about the spot because it looked, well, weird. For seven days I dutifully applied the Olay Total Effects Cooling Hydration to my face, generally, and to the spot in particular, and the weird wrinkly spot is gone. I’ve also noticed a more even complexion in the last few days, evidenced by my using slightly less foundation than usual.
It's reasonably priced. Fancy wrinkle creams are expensive. Have you noticed? Last night, my husband accompanied me to Sephora to buy some foundation and I found him sampling eye creams in the back of the store. "Can you believe this?" he asked, holding up a tiny, tiny tub of wrinkle cream, "$80 for this teeny thing! I just sampled $8 worth on my right eye!" The Olay Total Effects Cooling Hydration feels expensive, is full of quality ingredients, but it won't break the bank.
It's oil free. Which means dewy, luminous skin without greasiness. I'm prone to pimples (how is it that I'm 30 and still get them? I mean, really?) so I try to avoid anything greasy. But I still want a fresh, dewy glow that makes it look like I've been enjoying a cup of tea at the beach on a foggy morning. This does the trick.
It has antioxidants. I'll admit, I know basically nothing about antioxidants, except that they are really, really good for you. This stuff has them.
Do you feel like your moisturizer’s fresh feeling can’t last all day? New Olay Total Effects Cooling Hydration instantly cools and leaves skin with a moisturized fresh feeling that lasts from morning to night. This oil-free daily moisturizer provides 7 anti aging benefits in 1 lightweight formula--complete with vitamins, minerals and cooling mint extract for an invigorating burst of freshness. For more information visit the Olay website.

I have been desperately searching for some sort of eye cream to help fade away the tiny "fine lines" that creep in with age. I'm 13 months away from 30 (yes, I am counting downt the remaining months) and I feel like I need more than just my daily moisturizer/SPF. I polled my friends and, believe it or not, most of them said to go with Olay for moisturizer and eye cream. I'm planning on buying a little bottle of eye serum this week...

I like body products to be environmentally friendly and non-toxic. I also don't want to put lotion on and then feel like my skin is dry ten minutes later. No pimples should result from using moisturizer and it should smell nice or not at all.

I live in Minnesota. It's winter. That's murder on my skin and it's as though your post read my mind as I am heading out today to find a good, reasonably priced, serious moisturizer. I'll be giving this a try! I need something that can keep my skin from developing icky dry spots, especially between Nov and March.

Honestly, I just want a moisturizer that works. I've tried so many moisturizers over the years and rarely do any of them do anything to help with my horrible dry winter skin. Oh and I hate how oily a lot of them are!

okay, seriously, tho, I like moisturizers that are light and not greasy feeling, and they must have SPF. Looking a little more pale is fine because I know I'm less prone to skin cancer :-)

I look for a moisturizer that is heavy in the winter. I like to ski and snowboard and if I don’t use a heavy formula my skin gets red and chafed after enjoying winter sports.
In the summer something light with sunblock is ideal.

Anything that will make my skin softer. I used to use really expensive moisturizers, but a friend of my who is a dermatologist, told me that Olay is just as good as La Mer at about one tenth the price. There is no magic ingredient when it comes to moisturizers, you just pay for the delusion.
