In the midst of studying for the dreaded Bar Exam, a package arrived from Oregon Chai. The box was filled with goodies: a canister of Chai Tea Latte Mix, a mug and hot plate, and an insulated cold beverage to go cup. The letter inside recommended that I take some "Me Time" to relax, de-stress, and enjoy the good stuff in life. There was even a mood ring so I could make sure that I was tranquil while enjoying my Chai. The package seriously could not have arrived at a better time.
The truth is, it's often hard to find Me Time. Don't you agree? We are all so over-booked, our calendars so full, and our to-do lists ever-growing, that it is hard to just sit back and enjoy life. Let's make a promise to each other: sometime today let's take five minutes (or more!) and do something nice for ourselves. Cool?
Need some ideas? Okay, here goes: take a walk, ride your bike, stretch, bake a pie, read a magazine, snap some photos, take a nap, start a new book, wander around the bookstore, give yourself a pedicure. You can get really cheesy and take a bubble bath. Or, just stare into space for five minutes (doesn't that honestly feel good sometimes?).
Oregon Chai has generously provided me with two giveaways for those of you willing to take a little Me Time:
- 10 oz. canister sample paired with a hot mug
- 10 oz. canister sample paired with an acrylic reusable cold beverage cup
(And, by the way, you can only win if you actually take the Me Time. Obviously, there's no way that I can actually verify that you took your Me Time so you are on your honor here. Can you imagine the guilt you would feel if you win the prize but didn't keep your promise?)
For more chances to win great prizes, Oregon Chai is hosting a Twitter Party. What better excuse for some midweek Me Time? Follow @OregonChai tonight, Tuesday, August 10 from 7 to 8 p.m. CDT. Use the tag #Chaifor10 to win!
I took Me Time this morning with an early AM jog. It was the first one in a couple of weeks and it was NEEDED.

I plan on reading a chapter of my favorite book Pride and Prejudice in my hammock....oh I can't wait!

I am going to take my sewing machine out of the box. Finally. I've had it since Christmas (it was a gift) and I'm going to indulge in the Freckled Nests' online Home Ec class I forced myself to sign up for and to pay for so I'd use my gift. No more scaredy pants. I'm going to dive right into my sewing adventure. Maybe I'll even end up with some nice napkins and pj pants!

I already took some me time today, does that count? Instead of sitting in my office during lunch, I took a blanket outside, ate under a tree, read the new yorker and then took a nap. It was heaven. I'm going to do it again tomorrow.
If I have to take some more me time today (go ahead, twist my arm!) I'm going to take a nice, long bath with a glossy magazine.

Today I took my me time by drinking a smoothie and flipping through a Real Simple Magazine.

Just saw this post today, but I must say, Oregon Chai is awesome!! As for Me Time, I find a long walk is nice, and reading a bit of fiction always spruces up the work day.
