Last Saturday night, we threw some blankets into the car and drove over to the drive-in theater. You guys, I am stoked about the drive-in. It's so much fun--you get to talk during the movie and throw your feet up on the dashboard and feel fabulously retro.
Plus, at $7 per person for TWO movies, it's a wonderful deal. We saw Easy A (I totally love Emma Stone) and The Town (fantastic). The concession stand goodies were reasonably priced, too, at least relative to other theater concession stands, and we had a huge things of nachos, popcorn, Raisinettes, and a jumbo soda for under $15 (what? we hadn't eaten dinner and it was a double-feature!).
A lot of people in SLO seem unimpressed by the fact that there is a drive-in theater right in town, but I loved the whole experience and plan to go back soon as soon as good movies are playing (this weekend not so much).
these photos are adorable. i love that you chose b&w. we have a drive in near our home, too. it's nice to step back in time once or twice a summer.

!!! Omg! A drive in! Gah! I've always wanted to go to one but have never lived in a place that has a drive in.
Um, this is going on my life list!

How fun! I wish we had a drive-in theater.

I love the drive-in in SLO! I went with my sister when I visited her at Cal Poly. So much fun and so reasonably priced.
The drive-in just re-opened in Goleta, and we are actually going tonight! I haven't been to this one since I saw Back to the Future III there years ago. It closed down shortly after, but is back and going strong now.

So cool! There is a run down drive-in between my parents' house and my apartment. (Or there used to be, it has been a while since I saw it) and I always wished they'd fix it up.
