Loving this N.Y. Times article on Bicycle Fashion, and especially these quotes about New Yorkers who ride:
Ms. Page-Green, who runs a nonprofit group that provides meals to needy children, likes to charge around town on her bike. Sometimes she’s done up in sparkly necklaces and towering heels; other times she coasts to appointments, sans helmet, in a blazer and fresh-pressed jeans. “I get sweaty a little, but it doesn’t bother me,” she said. Her bike, after all, is a stylish appendage, “a kind of rustic enhancement,” she said.A desire to look workday glamorous impelled Michelle Tillou, an art dealer, to ride to her gallery on Beekman Place the other day wearing a blazer, elasticized trousers and patent-leather wedge-heel shoes. More often she slips on kitten heels. “The better to hook onto the pedals,” she said.
{Thanks Zandria!}
You bike posts always make me wish my town was more bike accomodating... I have two bikes and ride them when I can.
You should do more posts featuring you on your bike!

Fun story but she really should wear a helmet. Tramatic brain injuries aren't trendy or cute.

agreed with Rachel. Otherwise, go bike culture! I bike to school (most days . . . moving soon to a closer apartment so that I'll bike every day) and wear my helmet. I think I've seen two other people in town wear their helmets. One of my big goals, when I get done with this round of school, is to have a job where I can bike to work.
