Christina is completely torn between Clark University and DePaul University.
I decide: Clark!
First, it's a Tier One school. Although I definitely do not think that rankings should be dispositive, the most recent rankings indicate Clark as Tier One and DePaul as Tier Three. Maybe there's something to that, maybe not.
More importantly, though, Clark was named one of the Top 40 Colleges that Change Lives. That sounds pretty dang amazing, if you ask me. Your life will be changed! Presumably for the better!
(Although, really, if you ask me, going to college, any college, is a real life changer. I didn't happen to go to one of the Top 40 Colleges that Change Lives, but college absolutely changed my life. Many of my friendships, experiences, and life lessons are directly attributable to attending college. Not to mention all that great knowledge I am currently purchasing at the not-so-bargain price of $25,000 per year. The 150K PLUS INTEREST that I will owe at the end of this big adventure will be worth every penny. Assuming, of course, that I find myself a job.)
And, hey! If you are interested in some specific majors, you can get a Master's Degree in five years at Clark, with the fifth year tuition free. I wonder if UC Davis will let me go on to get a Master's in Art History for free. I am guessing the answer to that is a definite no.
So, go Clark!
{Any DePaul or Clark students care to chime in?}
Thanks for the decidering! Always good to get another person's opinion besides my parents'.

Clark is a great choice...I'm a veteran educator and was delighted that both my children applied, although it was the 2nd choice of both nobody in my family has a negative thing to say about it. The same is true of 3 fairly recent Clark grads we know.

I am a 30 plus year counselor and dean and I encouraged both of my children to consider Clark. It's a great schoo...so good that it would be impossible to get into if it were in Boston instead of Worcester.
