I have been scanning photos for my dad, mostly of his old band, The Sound of Today. My dad is the fellow farthest to the right, in the light colored pants and shirt (which are yellow, actually).
My dad tells great stories about his days as a musician. They were only high schoolers, but they played for weddings, fashion shows at Broadway Department stores, and fraternity parties. They placed in a Battle of the Bands contest at the Hollywood Bowl, were featured in various magazines, opened for some popular bands of the time, and even had a record deal. I loved to listen to their 45s on my record player as a kid.
Aren't they groovy?
Your dad sort of resembles Jack Black in that picture! That is so cool that your dad was in a band with a record deal! Groovy! :)

I second Amber's comment.

Awesome pictures. And yeah, I can definitely see the Jack Black resemblance.
