I love a movie with a dance sequence, particularly one of those impromptu dance sequences where a large group of people who are just sitting around suddenly get up and bust into a choreographed dance. Think of such great movies as Grease and Dirty Dancing and 13 Going on 30.
My dream is to be in a dance scene like that, in real life, even though I have no dance moves to speak of (other than the shopping cart and the sprinkler, of course) and things like that never happen in real life, unless you are talking about a line dance at a country bar, which obviously I am not.
In any event, (500) Days of Summer was a wonderfully delightful film with the added bonus of a dance sequence.
We need more dance sequences in our lives, I think. Especially ones with the so adorable Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
At the New York Times, Marc Webb, the director of "(500) Days of Summer," discusses the dance sequence from the film.

Ohhh my gosh. I saw this last Friday and just DIED when this scene began. It makes me so, so happy!

My brother (who is unlike in me in many, many ways) saw this before me - I have yet to see it.
Just last night he was telling me I should go see it, then showed me this on Youtube. And now I definitely must see it. I LOVE random dance scenes in movies. One of my faves is during the parade scene in Ferris Bueller's Day Off when they all start dancing to Twist and Shout.

I didn't love this movie as much as I wanted to...I wish that we could just randomly sing out loud much like random acts of dancing. Life would be so much happier if more people sang outloud!

I absolutely loved this movie! (Especially the impromptu dance number - I, too, have a soft spot for movies that have musical elements.) This should definitely be incorporated into real life.

What a coincidence that you have this on your blog! First time visiting here....One of my co-workers told me to look up this dance sequence on YouTube tonight when I got home. Ha! You just saved me the trouble of looking it up! :)
(It was cute, and I think it'd be fun for something like that to happen spontaneously in real life, too!)
