I went there about 10 years ago. It's beautiful! We had the coolest shower in our hotel bathroom. But I digress. Make sure to see Chichen Itza and Tulum. Tulum is gorgeous! I still have pictures around somewhere.

Chichen Itza is amazing! And HOT!!! We went this time a few years ago and it was a blast!

Hi Janet, thanks for visiting!

My blog friends leahandmark.com just honeymooned in Mexico (playa del carmen?) and went to chichen itza. They have some photos and videos on their blog (scroll right down). By all accounts, they loved it!

My parents went and loved it! (they live in Mexico and have been to all the out of the way places!) Enjoy your trip. (and thank you for the anniversary love on my blog.)

Sheena

I haven't been but I've had the food! Places with good food are easy to like and you will love Yucatan!

Mark

Merida should be pretty cool to visit - especially as an alternative to Cancun or Playa - before Cancun was built, Merida was essentially the only city in the entire Yucatan.

We liked Chichen Itza - and honestly... if you're gonna do any shopping for souvenirs... do it there, 'cause there are a ton of venders inside of the site (it's like a big flea market) - and they're all cheaper than any place in the city cause they don't have to pay for retail space.

This is the link to our video of the tour that we took

Chichen Itza is amazing! You'll love it. But when I climbed the temple there was a bat inside and it started poring rain, and i could feel the bugs biting my legs, but it was awesome and I'm so excited for you guys!

I left you a comment yesterday about your questions post....you'll probably see me popping up more frequently. I adore your blog!
I went to Cancun when I was a kid with my family. I'm sure I didn't appreciate it as much as I would now, but I do remember loving it. We went to Chichen Itza and climbed. Not sure if you can anymore but don't miss out if they haven't shut it down!
We went in August and it was hooooooooooooooot so dress light!

Amanda

I've been to Merida a few times. We mostly started there on our way down to smaller towns to do some construction work, but I always enjoyed perusing the market. At the end of the trips we visited Chichen Itza and Tulum. Both places are not to be missed. WHen we fly down from NC, there is frequently a small layover in Cozumel and I think it's a little less crazy than Cancun. Although, the one time we did stay overnight in a resort outside of cancun, I was surprised by how nice it was.
