Thousand Dollar Dress
Like many married gals, Sonya Naumann had a once-worn sparkling white wedding dress hanging in her closet. She decided to do something with it:
Recently it occurred to me that the thousand dollar dress was merely going to hang in an expensive bag for the rest of its life. This seemed ludicrous and ineffectually temporal. Amidst my ongoing curiosity about the very nature of marriage, the business, the presence of the politics surrounding it, and my own connection to it, I knew I had to do something with that dress. Thus, the project, Thousand Dollar Dress. It is my goal to photograph 1,000 individuals wearing my $1,000 wedding dress within the context of their own or chosen environment.
I signed up to be a $1000 dress model. If Sonya ever comes my way, I'm gonna put on that sparkling white dress and take a ride on my pink beach cruiser.

That is awesome. What a poignant, beautiful project!

Hm. I have a long, white dress hanging in my closet, but for some reason, "The 175-Dollar Dress Project" doesn't have quite the same ring. But it certainly helped my wallet at the time!

That's a fantastic idea!

Oh my gosh, that's fabulous! However, I'm too sentimental and have my wedding dressed preserved in the hope that one day my daughter will want to wear it. Just like I wanted to wear my mother's wedding dress, right?

Thanks for posting about her website. I checked it out and contacted her as well. You'd make a beautiful twice-over bride. And did I miss it or did you ever put up your wedding photos?

What a great idea. I hope you get picked. What a great photo that would make!

Very cool. My dress still hangs in the garment bag. Do you think I'll be able to convince a future daughter-in-law to wear it, considering I have all sons?

This is a fabulous idea. I love it! That would be so cool if she chose you to wear her dress -- and you have such a good idea for the photo shoot, too. :)
