Banana Caramel Chocolate Spice Pie
While we were chatting on the phone a few weeks ago, Nicole told me that I had to make this pie. I was a little suspicious of the recipe because it called for white chocolate and bananas and cinnamon and Oreos and caramel and Cool Whip, which seems like a lot of weird flavors to mix all up in one little pie. But, if someone calls you from all the way across the Atlantic to chat, you do what they say. So I made the pie.
And, whoa! That was one damn good pie. Will said it was the best pie we ever made.
Nicole jokingly told me to put a British flag on the pie for her and I actually printed one out to glue on a little toothpick and stick in the pie. The flag is still in the printer but, alas, the pie has all been eaten. I'm lucky I even had time to take a photo before we polished off the last two slices. I'll just have to whip up another.
The recipe is after the jump.
1 large ripe banana, sliced
1 Oreo Pie Crust (6 oz.)
2 cups cold milk
2 pkg. (4-serving size each) Jell-O White Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed
1 cup caramel ice cream topping
Place banana slices on bottom of crust.
Pour cold milk into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes and cinnamon. Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes or until well blended. Gently stir in whipped topping. Spoon into crust.
Refrigerate 4 hours or until set.
Serve topped with caramel topping.
Store leftover pie in refrigerator.
The recipe is from Kraft Foods. Those people know what's up.

I LOVE that you and Nicole are such buddies. It's great when two people you really like, like each other. (Hi Nicole!)
And by the way, those ingredients sound yum-a-roo!

Just reading the words "white chocolate" and "banana" and "cinnamon" and "caramel" in the same sentence is making me weak in the knees. I fear that actually eating them all together would cause me to temporarily lose my vision.
But I will press on. Because I am brave.

Can you switch Oreo pie crust for something else? - no such thing here.

I'm delurking to tell you I made this pie and it saved the day for my boyfriend and I and his family. We went out to a restaurant that had switched owners and the food was terrible! When we got home I offered everybody the pie and it was a hit! Thanks! I love your blog btw too!

I'd have to say that you can improve this recipe by adding one five-year-old helper. I did! :)

Try using real Cinnamon in your recipes. The Cinnamon that we buy in the US is actually Cassia.
Cassia has a chemical called coumarin which could be toxic. Please click the below link to read more.
