4 Wheels Bad, 2 Wheels Good

We are spending Easter at the Doubletree Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. We originally came here to look at Arizona State University, the school I decided last week to attend for law school. Then we got here. About 40 minutes into the trip and we decided no way. So, instead of looking at apartments and whatnot, we have been swimming in our resort's amazing pool (one of two), drinking margaritas, and sleeping in. It has been relaxing and fabulous and a much needed break because in two days we will once again be flying cross country with twenty teens.

The main reason we decided not to move to Arizona? You can't really ride a bike. And if there is one thing I care about, almost more than I care about actually getting a law degree, it is getting rid of my car. I've been dreaming about a bicycle as my main form of transportation since the good ol' days at UCSB. Can't you see me on a beach cruiser with a basket picking out fruits and veggies at the local farmer's market? Me, too. And that's why I will be attending law school at this place. 34th ranked school, in-state public tuition, and the most bicycle friendly city in the United States. Wanna ride on my handlebars?

I honestly think that's a fabulous choice. Although I'm sad you won't be joining me out here in DC, I think you'd love it out there better anyway. Plus, no cross-country move!

So it isnt in the fabulous city of SF, that's ok with me because there's a shuttle that goes from UC Berkeley to UC Davis everyday. Expect a weekend visitor every now and then.

Yeah!

Congratulations on your choice....It sounds great! No handlebar rides, please...I had a good friend growing up that spent an entire summer casted up to her mid-thigh from doing that. (Such a wuss, I am)

I love that a place being bicycle-friendly was so high on your list of must-haves. Congrats on making the decision, Janet! I'm so happy for you. That must be a big load off your mind. :)

I happen to work at a law school (as a librarian) and also love the color pink (my husband has gotten used to it).

If it's a bike you're looking for, then this is the one you want.

It comes in pink and it's fabulous to ride. I attribute the need for a pink bike at the age of 30 as never getting that Schwinn I wanted when I was 8.

Electrabikes are the best! Hope you can find a really cool one. I love mine!!

I love the music from the doubletree commercial (Relax Max) that's on right now.

Darn, no DC! Although my inlaws both graduated from Davis so you're good people.

Great choice!

Congrats on the choice!

Congrats!

Davis is a great school and I love the campus. Went there a few years ago with my daughter to check it out and it reminded me so much of Penn State. My daughter decided to go to Notre Dame instead, but Davis was her second choice and it would have been way, way cheaper. The law school is good, you are making a great choice, especially over Arizona!!!

The location is perfect - close to Sacramento (which is really growing and not as boring as it used to be) Reno, and San Francisco. I wish you the best. I know you will do well, and will be happy in the environment.

Yay for you Janet! Way to stay in State! Now when I come up next year for a classs at Davis, I have an insider for info on places to stay while I'm there. Yes!

YEAH I am so excited. I will see you all the time...Well until I move. When are you moving here

First time poster and I just have to say that you were cool before, but you're much cooler now that you chose to attend my alma mater. =) Be careful in the roundabouts.

well thats better for me too.

Here it is!
What is Will doing?
What kind of law?
Thanks for the laugh about ending up in Palm Springs instead of San Diego. Wow! That cracked me up!
go girl!
