You know, there is a rather "off-color" (racist) joke about three men sitting around talking about what the greatest invention of all time is. The first says something like the Model A Ford because it got the country moving, another says something else (I forget what), and the third (a black man) says "this styrofoam cooler here is the greatest invention of all time". The others look at him quizically and ask how that could possibly be the greatest invention to which he replies, "well, it keeps hot things hot and cold things cold. How do it know?" So to me, the grammatical error on your sign, unwittingly or not, is a bit racist and THAT should be brought to the attention of Trader Joe's. I'm just sayin'..
BTW, I wasn't saying there was anything intentionally inappropriate about it (racially speaking anyway). Just sharing a little tidbit-O-trivia for some people to ponder, that's all. And grammatical errors* do simply drive me BUGGY. The improper punctuation* will likely keep me up tonight. Dammit!
Can I just complain about how freakin' ugly the sign itself is!?! I barely got over that to even notice the error. ERG! Seriously Trader Joes, who are you hiring?
You people are so stupid. This is not a grammatical error. The person who made this sign did this on purpose. This is what's known as an allusion.
For those of you who do not understand this term, please read this entry from dictionary.com:
"An indirect reference to some piece of knowledge not actually mentioned. Allusions usually come from a body of information that the author presumes the reader will know. For example, an author who writes, “She was another Helen,” is alluding to the proverbial beauty of Helen of Troy."
This is a racist joke only if you tell it as one. I heard it about three women and the blonde ask "How do it know?" Sexist sure, but hey, aren't we all? YES!
PLEASE tell me that you brought the error to their attention! Palmdale is low-class enough as it is. xoxo

Here's my nitpick: Um, "How do it know" is a question, right? So where the hell is the question mark?!

I want to walk around asking, "How do it know?" Just for random things, like at work.

I had never heard of the joke. I just figured it was a 9th grader makin' signs.

Give me a pack of Mr. Sketch markers, some die-cuts and I'll go to town (hell, maybe even some glitter pens).
That is one ugly sign, regardless of the copy!
